Aglaonema pictum Tricolor belongs to the Araceae, and is native to Sumatra, Indonesia. Of the Aglaonemas, only 55 species are known and only a few can be kept as houseplants. This beautiful Aglaonema pictum Tricolor is one of those exceptions.
The Aglaonema pictum Tricolor is an unusual Aglaonema with three shades of green showing an army-like pattern on the leaves. The greens range from very light green to deep dark green. This exceptional pattern, and the slow growth of the Aglaonema pictum Tricolor, makes this plant a real rarity.
Due to its tropical origins, the plant likes to stand in a climate with high temperatures and high humidity. The minimum temperature this plant can tolerate is 18°C. A lot of indirect light is also ideal for this plant. If the Aglaonema pictum Tricolor receives too little light, its leaves may turn yellow.
This rare Aglaonema likes to stand in airy soil that is slightly moist during the growing season. In winter and autumn, the plant's water supply may be reduced. As for its location, the Aglaonema pictum Tricolor does not like to stand close to a window or in a draught. This can make it susceptible to pests.
