World’s most unique tropical plants

In recent years, especially during the Corona era, the collection of houseplants has increased enormously. This has led to the emergence of the so-called "plant fluencers/plant influencers", especially among millennials. The urge among these 'plant addicts' to buy ever rarer plants continues to grow and, as with other collectibles, the rarest specimens are sold for big money.

In general, the rarest houseplants are those of which only a few have been observed in the wild or those with a mutation/defect in their DNA, which is called variegation. In this case, the leaf lacks chlorophyll and parts of the leaf and stem are white (albo variegation) or yellow (aurea variegation). Less chlorophyll is equivalent to being able to generate less energy with the same amount of light as a green plant. This is why it almost never occurs in nature, because it is less ideal for the growth of the plant. Indoors and in a greenhouse, however, we can recreate the perfect conditions, so that a lack of chloroplasts need not cause any major problems.

We have been able to acquire some of these extremely rare plants and cultivate them in our company. We offer a few of these particularly exclusive plants!
