Belangrijke mededeling: Vertraging bij plantenverzending door slechte weersomstandigheden

Dear plant lovers, 

We would like to inform you about a possible delay of orders due to cold weather conditions in January 2024 and why weather insurance does not expedite this.

Weather effects on shipping

Unfortunately in Europe we are experiencing a cold wave 1 week after the shipping freeze. Since we were still catching up, this weather is therefore extra unfavorable. Many shipments are thus further delayed. These low temperatures directly affect the safe shipping of our plants. 

Priority: safety of the plants

Because these weather conditions, even with considerable insulation, we cannot keep this cold out of the box for many destinations, we cannot ship to them. Otherwise, the plants will most likely be damaged in transit. Therefore, shipments to Scandinavia and Eastern Europe in particular are postponed for the time being. 

From other countries the weather is constantly monitored, in order to see which plants can be sent when. 

Packing material not resistant

We currently use at least 3 layers of insulating packing material that keeps out the cold for each plant. Still, these temperatures in parts of Europe mean that we cannot easily ship to this. This is because our packing material is not capable of withstanding the cold.

With weather insurance do we ship?

Unfortunately, weather insurance does not ensure that your order can be shipped faster. Because the temperature may be too low for our packing material, your order may also have to wait a while.

Monitoring weather conditions

For each area, we constantly check what the weather is going to do. That way we get a better idea of when we can resume orders. 

Resuming shipments

Looking at the temperatures, it looks like orders can be shipped again to most areas by the end of January 2024. But, of course, this could change. Nothing is as changeable as the weather. So we wait cautiously and check the forecast carefully. 

Possibility to cancel

Not everyone can or wants to wait longer for an order. This of course makes the situation annoying for many people who have a deadline (such as a birthday). Nevertheless, it remains possible to cancel the order in the meantime if the delay is disappointing. We fully understand this choice then. To cancel an order, please contact us via the contact page. Then in the message or title that you want to cancel and the order number, please mention "Cancel: #0000-CL" . Then you can be sure that the cancellation will be noticed by our staff as soon as possible.

We can no longer keep up with inquiries about delivery times. Therefore, to our regret, we cannot provide everyone with a personalized answer. So we hope this text answers your questions as best we can.
