In terms of care, this is not one of the most difficult plants. But the Dendrobium does have different species with very beautiful full flower branches with several beautiful flowers.

Origin and characteristics

Dendrobiums generally come from Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand and are often epiphytic orchids with a very diverse size and appearance between species. They often have elongated pseudobules and are sometimes deciduous during a certain period of the year. Some species can get flower branches of a meter long!

After Bulbophyllum, the Dendrobium with around 1800 species is the largest orchid genus in the world. In particular, there are many species in tropical low land rain forests and cooler forests in the Himalaya mountains. That is why these orchid species also look so incredibly diverse.

Special types of Dendrobiums

One of the most special dendrobiums that we have recurring in our range is the Alien Orchid. This is a very special orchid with wavy, curly petals and a separate drawing on the petals. The Latin name of this plant is Dendrobium Spectabile.

The Dendrobium also has a large number of fun miniature orchids, which can be extremely suitable for, for example, as a decoration in a terrarium. For example, the Dendrobium microbulbon is only a few centimeters in size and can already bloom with small, cute pink flowers.

Other popular dendrobium species include the Dendrobium Densiflorum, Dendrobium Bellatulum, Dendrobium CuthBersonii "Yellow" and the Dendrobium Hekouense.
