The Phalaenopsis is basically an easy Beginnerorchid to start with, if you don't have much experience with the care of tropical orchids as a houseplant. But the Phalaenopsis is also a pleasant orchid for experienced orchid lovers.

The Phalaenopsis has a special type of carrot that often benefits from a transparent pot. Moreover, the orchid likes to be in Bark. Normal potting soil is out of the question for this orchid! Normal potting soil causes root rot and has too bad drainage. A phalaenopsis can be quite dry. Therefore, check for watering whether the bottom of the pot is just dry. When this is the case, it is time to give some water to the orchid. This orchid does not like tap water, but of clean water such as rainwater.
The best temperature for the butterfly orchid
The orchid is doing well in living rooms, where there is little to no draft. A minimal temperature of 15 degrees Celsius is therefore desirable. In the summer the temperature can rise a bit.
Humidity in a phalaenopsis
In addition, the Phalaenopsis keeps from a mediocre to high humidity. So watch out in the winter with the heating. It can help to place hydro pellets under the pot with absorbed water, so that the humidity around the plant is increased.
